On December 01, 2017, an event dedicated to the 80th birthday of Madame Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, the former President of the Republic of Latvia during 1999-2007, and currently the President of the Club de Madrid, also the Co-chair of the Board of Trustees of the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre. Officials of Latvian government, Heads and representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Latvia and public and political figures have attended at the event.
