Commemorative events devoted to the 73rd anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War were carried out in Riga on 9th of May, 2018.
On 9th of May, 2018 Ambassador Javanshir Akhundov has participated in the commemorative events devoted to the 73rd anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Within the frame of these events flower laying ceremonies were held at the graves of those who gave their lives in the war.
During his speech at the commemoration event Ambassador J.Akhundov spoke about victims during the war from the Azerbaijani side and about exceptional role of our people in the achievement of the victory. Ambassador stressed to the participants of the event the important role of Azerbaijani oil workers and labour veterans in delivering the fuel needed to operate soviet tanks and airplanes, as well as spoke about the remarkable role of our compatriots during their struggle on the front.
