The Embassy congratulated the famous Latvian musician Raymond Pauls on his 85th birthday anniversary (En/Ru).
These days the legendary musician, one of the symbols of Latvia, Raimonds Pauls, is celebrating a semicircular date - his 85th birthday. It is hard to believe! Maestro Pauls is full of energy, creative ideas, all kinds of plans. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the anniversary evening, which was supposed to be held at the Latvian National Theater, had to be canceled. Concerts with the renowned Latvian opera singer Elina Garanca and other major projects have also been postponed. But on January 12, an evening took place in the Dzintars hall, which was broadcast on the ReTV channel, and tens of thousands of fans of Raymond Pauls could watch and listen to this concert online. The concert was attended by the Latvian Radio Big Band, singers Intars Busulis and Daumant Kalnins, Dinara Rudane and Ance Krause, the Framest group, as well as the famous tenor Alexander Antonenko. Fragments from the suites "Black Colors", "Impressions" and series of songs to the verses of J. Peters, G. Rachs, I. Ziedonis, E. Yevtushenko, folk songs were performed. And throughout the concert the Maestro himself was at the piano - the youngest in spirit participant in this unforgettable evening. On the day of the anniversary, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Latvia sent a congratulatory letter to R. Pauls, which we present to your attention.

Let me congratulate you - an outstanding musician, public figure, educator on your 85th anniversary. Your multifaceted work is an integral part of the history of modern music. In the polyphonic, colorful, multilingual choir of contemporary musical art, your voice sounds loud and bright. You managed to find your own style, your unique – heartfelt - intonation. From the very first bars, many can easily identify your authorship. A rare - an amazing gift of God! The ability to create works that penetrate the soul, excite, inspire, make you sad or rejoice, melodies that are sung by both young and old is happiness for an artist. Your music has a unique quality sought by many creators: millions of music lovers on the planet listen to it with pleasure, and professional colleagues appreciate it too. And in any talented interpretation, this music takes on new colors, in the hands of a true master it begins to sparkle like a precious stone, surprising with its unearthly beauty.
And what about your sparkling improvisations, full of fantasy, fire, ingenuity? They give unforgettable emotions, charge with energy, fascinate with great freedom, flight of thought.
You are the asset of your wonderful country and people. We say Latvia, we mean - R. Pauls, we pronounce the name of Pauls - we think about wonderful Latvia. Your music absorbs all the charm of your land - the colors of the wondrous nature, the aroma of the Baltic Sea, it contains the generous, pure soul of the people.
Azerbaijan respects you, sincerely loves your art. In our country there are a huge number of fans of your work. Your songs are sung not only by famous Azerbaijani artists - from the stage, they are also heard at festivals, at family celebrations, people of different generations listen to them with pleasure, finding in them a lot that is in tune with their emotions, emotional impulses and thoughts. Truly, the language of music knows no boundaries!

В эти дни легендарный музыкант, один из символов Латвии - Раймонд Паулс отмечает полукруглую дату – 85-летие. В это трудно поверить! Маэстро Паулс полон энергии, творческих идей, всевозможных планов. К сожалению, из-за пандемии пришлось отменить юбилейный вечер, который должен был пройти в Латвийском Национальном театре. Перенесены и концерты с прославленной латвийской оперной певицей Элиной Гаранчей, другие крупные проекты. Но 12 января все же состоялся вечер в зале «Дзинтарс», который транслировался по каналу ReTV, и этот концерт онлайн смогли посмотреть и послушать десятки тысяч поклонников творчества Раймонда Паулса. В концерте приняли участие Биг-бэнд Латвийского радио, певцы Интарс Бусулис и Даумант Калниньш, Динара Рудане и Анце Краузе, группа Framest, а также знаменитый тенор Александр Антоненко. Прозвучали фрагменты из сюит «Черные краски», «Впечатления», и венок песен на стихи Я.Петерса, Г.Рачса, И.Зиедониса, Е.Евтушенко, обработки народных песен. И на протяжении всего концерта за роялем был сам Маэстро – самый молодой по духу участник этого незабываемого вечера. В день юбилея посольство Азербайджана в Латвии адресовало Р.Паулсу поздравительное письмо, которое мы представляем Вашему вниманию.
