Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Latvia Artis Pabriks
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his interlocutor on the consequences of the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and the scale of damage and destruction of infrastructure in the liberated territories, as well as the situation in the region during the post-conflict period. In this regard, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed the importance of applying an approach consistent with international law by the countries of the European Union.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted cooperation with the European Union and important issues on the agenda. The importance that we attach to the conclusion of a new agreement with the European Union was emphasized.
Defense Minister Artis Pabriks said his country attaches special importance to relations with Azerbaijan and considers Azerbaijan a strategic partner. He noted that in two years, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be celebrated and it will be a significant event.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan to overcome the crisis in Ukraine.
The sides also exchanged views on regional and other issues of mutual interest.
